Meet the Staff

20170427_223510Miss Mare is the owner and Artistic Director of Miss Mare’s All About Dance. Miss Mare has been dancing since the age of 5. Her dance education brought her to Linda Jean’s Studio of Dance at the age of 14, where she was a part of the competition dance team, an assistant teacher, and then a teacher and choreographer for the studio and team. Two dancers from her “Triple Threat Trio”, who won numerous special awards, high scores, and honors are now teachers at Miss Mare’s (Miss Emily and Miss Chervene).

She graduated from Monmouth University where she performed in numerous shows, was a collegiate cheerleader, as well as judged the first dance team at Monmouth University. She continued to train on a weekly basis at Broadway Dance Center in NYC. Miss Mare has taught dance the local schools and runs the summer dance camp at the Atlantic Club Manasquan for 9 years. Her professional experience includes: Six Flags, The Shore Cats Dance Team, MTV, some print and hair shows. She bought the studio from Linda Jean in August 2010 and has continued the tradition of dance excellence in a fun environment.  Her specialty is Tap.

Miss Emily started her training at the age of 4 at Linda Jean’s Studio of Dance. Her dedication got her noticed and was asked to join the competition team at 8 years old. She trained in all styles, has vast knowledge of kinesiology, and was a part of the Miss Mare’s “Triple Threat Trio”, who won Platinum’s and special awards during their reign. In Emily’s senior year she became the dance team captain.

After graduating she continued her education at Wagner College, where she earned her Major in Art Administration and Double Minored in Spanish and Dance. Emily danced in college on the Wagner dance team for four years, becoming captain her senior year. She performed in Disney for ESPN’s Wide World of Sports & Universal Dance Association Nationals.

Miss Emily became a permanent teacher in 2011 for Miss Mare’s and a dance team choreographer. Her choreography has been noticed and awarded in numerous competitions. Her specialties are Hip-Hop, Jazz and Contemporary.

Fun Fact: Miss Emily works for the New Jersey Devils!


Miss Chervene began her dance training at Linda Jean’s Studio of Dance at the age of three. She was invited on the dance team at age eight and competed solos, was a member of Miss Mare’s platinum award winning “Triple Threat Trio” and was awarded special awards as well as overall scores.

Chervene went on to graduate from Ramapo College, where she competed on the dance team at the NDA Nationals for four years. The dance team won their first 1st place National title in Ramapo history and during her senior year she was voted captain and lead them to their second consecutive 1st place win.

Chervene begun teaching all styles of dance at Miss Mare’s in 2013 and is now a dance team choreographer, specializing in tap. Her dances have received choreography awards for creative aesthetics, crisp sounds, and has been awarded Golden Tickets to Starpower’s Battle of the Stars, where her number took home 1st place.

Fun Fact: She is a certified CPA, Certified Public Accountant!

IMG_20161114_110534Miss Kristi graduated from the dance program at Red Bank Regional High School’s Academy of Visual and Performing Arts. During her time there she trained and performed at national dance festivals. Kristi graduated from Monmouth University where she was founder and President of the Dance Club. The dance program selected her to be a principal dancer and choreographer for the showcases ever semester.

After graduating she continued her training at The Studio (NYC), Princeton Ballet School (NJ), Martha Graham School of Contemporary dance (NYC), and Steps on Broadway (NYC). Kristi also studied acting at The Actor’s Training Institute (NJ), Susan Grace Cohen Studio (NYC), where she was hired as a consultant for other actors. She has been featured in independent films, commercials, theater, has done voice-over work, and print advertisement.

She started teaching for Miss Mare’s in 2013 with her specialty being Ballet.

Fun Fact: Kristi holds her Personal Training Certification with Aerobics and Fitness of America for 15 years.

IMG_20161205_133040Miss Ashley started dancing at the age of seven. She has been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, and musical theater. She danced competitively for 11 years. During her junior year of high school, she began choreographing at her studio and won a choreography award at Starquest dance competition.

Miss Ashley graduated from Towson University where with a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education. At Towson, she was a member of the Fusion Dance Team. She performed at sports games and school events as well as choreographed and performed in their annual showcase.

She currently teachers lyrical, contemporary, and ballet at Miss Mare’s.

Fun Fact: Miss Ashley is also a preschool teacher!

IMG_20161212_121243Miss Nicole started dancing at the age of three at Miss Carol’s Ballet School and at four started at Linda Jean’s Studio of Dance. At nine she was invited to be part of the competition team where she was a part of many award winning dances and as a soloist was picked to dance with Starpower’s Power Pak.

She continued her education and graduated from Temple University where she was part of the school’s dance team, the Diamond Gems. She danced at the football and basketball games, as well as performed at different events around Philadelphia such as the Eagles pregame show. During her junior year, Miss Nicole started choreographing for Miss Linda’s dance team and continued to do so after the studio was handed over to Miss Mare.

As a choreographer, many of her dances received high scores, special awards, invitations to the ultimate challenge, entertainment awards, and choreography awards. In 2013 Miss Nicole took a break to focus on her new role of being a mom. Not being able to completely hang up her dance shoes, she is back and bringing her daughter along for the ride, in hopes that her daughter will love dance as much as she and the other students at Miss Mare’s do.

Fun Fact: Miss Nicole holds a Bachelor degree in Marketing from Temple University,  Master’s degree in Education from Monmouth University, and is a middle school math teacher!
